Opportunity for Future Expansion

Since 1952, Light of Life Rescue Mission has been a safe refuge for homeless and hurting people in the Pittsburgh area.  The organization has recently embarked on a capital campaign and is opening a new building in early 2021.  As part of its expansion, Light of Life is seeking a full-time Food Truck Supervisor to oversee a new venture.

Reporting to the Sr Operations Manager, the Food Truck Supervisor will perform all day-to-day Food Truck operations and procedures. During the food truck off-season, this position will perform related job responsibilities as needed at Light of Life's Donation Center. 

 This role will promote and build relationships by collaboration and teamwork, and ensure the highest level of customer experience.  

 Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Opening and closing the food truck, inventory management, stocking, and cleaning the trailer before and after business operations  
  • Scheduling locations of operation and preparing staff schedules (including Volunteers)
  • Working alongside staff, which includes performing window service, taking food orders and purchase transactions 
  • Assuring Quality Control of all orders cooked to serve 
  • Accounting of inventory, sales, and expense tracking 
  • Ability to quickly and accurately handle sales transactions using a variety of methods (cash, credit, etc) in a fast-paced environment
  • Providing catering information and processing large orders for events 
  • Supporting the Donation Center team in the food pantry as other areas as needed

  • Study the Christian Bible and apply the knowledge received/revealed to job duties and clients' specific issues. 
  • Help the clients make choices that are justifiably in their eternal best interest. 
  • Practice Christ-like stewardship of all resources. 
  • Model personal responsibility, accountability, timely reporting and a self-evaluative lifestyle. 


  • High school diploma or GED   
  • Previous related experience in the fast-food industry  
  • ServSafe certification, or willingness and ability to certify 
  • Valid PA driver's license with clean driving record 
  • Experience driving cargo van, pick-up truck, or box truck a plus 
  • Proficient in Office365 and cloud-based software

Light of Life is following CDC-recommended guidelines for food preparation and social distancing.  Masks, gloves, hand-sanitizer and cleaning/ disinfecting products provided.
