Light of Life Rescue Mission is seeking a full-time Community and Communications Coordinator. This position is responsible for engaging homeless providers and building relationships through outreach events, which meet critical needs and connect people to resources. This person is also responsible for supporting communications and special projects for Light of Life Rescue mission and Family Guidance.

These responsibilities could include, but are not limited to:

  • Achieve annual goals through outreach events, including Good Friday Meal, Day of Hope Picnic, Trunk or Treat, Thanksgiving Dinner Baskets, Thanksgiving Banquet, Alive Outreach Event, Christmas Giving Project, and Christmas Banquet.
  • Contribute to communications for Light of Life Rescue Mission and Family Guidance, including quarterly newsleters, mailings, emails, radio advertisements, and social media.
  • Manage third-party events.
  • Support special projects through project management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Due to the interface with the clients, all jobs at Light of Life require employees to:

  • Exhibit love for Jesus Christ, the staff, and the clients.
  • Study the Christian Bible and apply the knowledge received/revealed to job duties and clients' specific issues.
  • Help the clients make choices that are justifiably in their eternal best interest.
  • Practice Christ Like stewardship of all resources.
  • Model personal responsibility, accountability, timely reporting and a self-evaluative lifestyle

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and social media platforms
  • Knowledge of issues pertaining to addiction, homelessness, and/or mental illness preferred
  • Strong writing skills and mastery of grammar, story-telling, styles, and tone.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Communications or related field or at least 3 years experience
  • Experience in project and event management
  • Previous experience working for a nonprofit organization in human services or ministry preferred
